Sanctuary Worship

As the Covid-19 restrictions are being lifted, First Church has transitioned to in-person and live-streaming Sunday worship at 9 AM from the Mission Valley Sanctuary.

Mask-wearing during indoor church activities is no longer required, even though still strongly encouraged for protection of yourself and others.

The Main Sanctuary of First Church is a grand contemporary cathedral built in the Spanish Neo-Gothic style. It is a unique building that gives our Sanctuary Worship a true sense of the greatness of the glory of God. Our worship features music from the largest pipe organ in San Diego along with magnificent choral music that will lift the spirit as part of our historic worship experience rooted in the Methodist Tradition.

The Weekly Messages are engaging and practical to everyday living. The preaching style is relaxed and challenging while focusing on the authority of Scripture and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.
