Music Series

Music Series is back!

After nearly a two-season hiatus, the Cultural Events Committee’s Music Series is back in-person, and promises to be a year of concerts you won’t want to miss. In addition, for a fourth year in a row, we are sponsoring free Midday Pipes organ recitals each month.

Beginning on October 10, 2021, our series will feature a unique event--a lively silent movie with organ accompaniment by Jaebon Hwang.  December will showcase the First Church Vocal Quartet performing seasonal music, while January will see the return of international concert organist, Christopher Houlihan.  March's violin recital by San Diego Symphony violinist Nick Grant will lead into the long-awaited Brahms Requiem, performed on Palm Sunday by our Chancel Choir and Masterwork Chorale.  The season finale will be a special summer pops cabaret with hors d'oeuvres, libations and plenty of Broadway hits.  We hope to see you at our concerts!

We are so fortunate to have your generous contributions dedicated to the Cultural Events Committee Music Series. While we always have enthusiastic audiences for these concerts, the free-will o erings, ticket sales and donations at the door simply do not cover the actual expenses of underwriting these excellent performances.

Since we are dedicated to producing only high-quality and inspirational events, your donations truly “bridge the gap” and make that possible. Please take a moment now to consider your donation—see button below: “Become a Music Series 2021-22 Patron” If you are already one of our patrons, you might consider moving up to the next level of giving. In addition to the tax advantage, your name will be printed on the back of every program for the entire 2021-22 concert year.

Thank you for your continued support; we look forward to seeing you at the Music Series concerts this season and for many years to come!
