How do I sign Up for Realm?
It’s easy to sign up. Visit the FUMCSD Realm portal and select the “Sign Up” button. You’ll be asked to provide your name, birth date, phone number, and email. If you’re unsure if you already have an account, contact our church office and we can help you out!
I can't log in. How do I get help?
Visit the FUMCSD Realm website or app sign in page and select “Forgot your password?” From there, you can initiate a password reset. If you’re still having problems, contact our church office for help.
I can't access the member directory. What's going on?
When you’re signed in to Realm Connect, you can access the directory from the main menu (look for “Directory”). We have privacy measures in place to prevent the general public from accessing the directory. If you participate in worship or one of our groups but can’t access the church directory within Realm Connect, please let us know in the church office. Our church staff will check your account settings.
How do I update my profile?
You can update your photo and contact information when you sign into Realm Connect online or via the mobile app. Privacy settings are only available when you sign in through a web browser.
If you are using a web browser: Tap your photo and/or name in the top right corner of the screen.
- To add or update your picture, click on the circle that’s to the left of your name.
- To edit contact information, click on “Edit Profile” button.
- To change your privacy settings, click on “Manage Privacy” button. This lets you control who can see your picture and contact information.
If you are using the mobile app: Tap on main menu and select “Profile” (listed toward the bottom of the menu options). Then tap the pencil icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- To add or update your picture, click on the circle that’s under your name.
- To edit contact information, click in the specific field – like Email – to type in new information. Tap “SAVE” in the top right corner when complete.
How do I find and join a group?
After you sign in to FUMCSD’s Realm Connect via the web or mobile app, you can tap on “Groups” in the main menu. From there, you will be able to see the groups that you are in or select “Find Groups” to join something new. By default, everyone is in the “First United Methodist Church of San Diego” group.
How do I find and sign up for volunteer opportunities?
If you’re interested in serving within the church, we invite you to explore the “Serving” section of Realm Connect. When you’re signed in, you will find “Serving” within the main menu. Once you’re there, select “Browse Serving Opportunities” to find volunteer options, sorted by role or by team.
How do I find and sign up for events?
When you’re signed in to Realm Connect, you can access our events listing from the main menu. Simply select “Events” to see upcoming registration events. You’ll see the events you’ve already signed up for and have the option to search for more. Please note: These are events that require registration. There are many other groups that meet throughout the month that don’t require sign up! See the “Groups” menu to review those as well.
How do I give to FUMCSD through Realm?
You can give to the church when you sign into Realm Connect through the web or mobile app by selecting “Giving” from the main menu. You can also give quickly through our dedicated Realm giving page.
Who can see and access my personal information?
By default, the viewing of your personal and contact information is limited to members of groups you are in, group leaders, and church staff. You can make your information visible to all of our registered users when you sign into Realm Connect online through a web browser. Once signed in, tap your photo and/or name in the top right corner of the screen. From there, select the “Manage Privacy” button. Here, you can choose from a variety of options to control who sees your home address, mobile phone, primary and alternate email addresses, and other personal information.
What security protections are in place for Realm Connect?
Realm is safe, private, and secure. Realm is a part of ACS Technologies, which is the largest provider of church database software and uses bank level, 128-bit encryption. Our church directory is only available to active church participants. When someone creates an account on their own, the church directory is unavailable until it is enabled by our church staff. Your financial information is only visible by you and select staff members whose authorizations are based on work function.
