Today, most of us carry around phones that have more power than desktop computers of a handful of years ago. They're walking encyclopedias; they provide connectivity to our friends and family sharing not just voice but photos and even streaming video; we can even call for an inexpensive ride that will take us to our desired destination and will arrive curbside in a few minutes. Yet, we are just at the leading edge of an era that will provide a parade of innovation that will improve our quality of life, and, if we are thoughtful about it, bring this innovation to all in a just and equitable fashion. Much as the early 20th century was the era of industrial evolution, the early 21st century is the era of digitalization. Please come to a discussion about the current progress and the future of Smart Cities.

Gary Halbert, City Manager of the City of Chula Vista will be the speaker.
