WE are Home for Christmas

This holiday, we settle into home and from there we consider the traditions of the season:

lighting the advent candles,
taking a family photo,
special recipes we share with friends,
and journeying to holy places.

This year, the holidays will be different, and thus these things are reinterpreted in new ways. We must never lose sight of the reasons these traditions mean so much to us. They are gifts of the incarnation. We sense the presence of the divine in our breath, our human relationships, our moments of remembering, giving thanks, and facing a new day. God comes to us in flesh and bone through Jesus Christ. This season we watch for this presence from our homes.
