The Walk to Emmaus
Do you want to feel God’s presence, grow in your relationship with Him and discern His will for your life? The Walk to Emmaus provides you with that opportunity in a spiritual retreat setting. This program of spiritual renewal has been developed by the Upper Room, United Methodist Church, Board of Discipleship ministries.
The Walk to Emmaus offers today’s disciples an opportunity to rediscover Christ’s presence in their lives, to gain fresh understanding of God’s transforming grace, and to form friendships that foster faith and support spiritual maturity.
This three-day program is offered once a year in the San Diego area. Participants called Pilgrims attend from Thursday evening until Sunday evening, staying overnight at a retreat center. To attend you must have a sponsor who has already attended the weekend.
For more information, visit the Upper Room Walk to Emmaus' website.
Face to Face Encounter
Face to Face offers seniors or those not wanting to spend the night at a retreat facility the same program content as the Walk to Emmaus.
This program of the Upper Room ministries of the United Methodist Church occurs twice a year in San Diego, once at First United Methodist Church and once in either North or South County. It is a four-day program of spiritual renewal to give Seniors a time to grow closer in their relationship with God, rediscover Christ's presence in their life, gain a fresh understanding of God's transforming grace and form friendships which will foster their faith.
The programs are held on Fridays and Saturdays of two consecutive weeks. Participants are expected to attend all four days. Applications are available on the web site or in the literature rack in the Hall. For more information, view the video below.
