Discover the Sentimental Value of Your Family’s Heirloom Bible.
WANT TO BRING A BIBLE TO THE ROADSHOW?
Free & Open to the Public
Do you have an old Bible, handed down through your family? Do you know when and where it was published, and what was happening at the time? Do you know how your ancestors thought about and interpreted the Bible, or how they used the Bible now in your possession? Bring your family’s “hand-me-down” or “heirloom” Bible on Saturday, November 4, and our team of experts will help you unpack the history that produced it. Even if you have no Bible of your own to explore, browse with others and discover the “sentimental value” of the Bible.
Presented by Dr. Lori-Anne Ferrell & Rev. John Fanestil, Ph.D.
Lori-Anne Ferrell is the John D. and Lillian Maguire Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at the Claremont Graduate University. John Fanestil is the Pastor of Faith Cultivation and Leadership Development at First UMC San Diego, and recently completed his Ph.D. in History at the University of Southern California.
