Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of the church – Pentecost!  All of the children received red ribbons to symbolize the tongues of fire that rested upon all of the disciples when they received the Holy Spirit.  Whenever Miss Sharon said “spirit” during Children’s Church, they waved those red ribbons above their heads.  Many of us wore red, and we celebrated Communion together for the last time in Children’s Church this year. 

It is hard to believe the year is wrapping up, but as June 2^nd approaches the children look forward to Promotion Sunday – where each one of them will move up to the next grade level.  For some this will mean new Sunday School classes, while others will remain in the same class with new classmates.  We will particularly miss the 5^th graders, but are excited for them as they move into the youth group! 

Our prayers and our hearts are with each and every child in the children’s ministry, and no matter what age, we are all part of the same church family! Praise God for the Holy Spirit, who connects us together as the church.  Happy birthday, church, and Happy Pentecost!
