Children’s Ministry/Director
Message from the Director
In the New Year, Children’s Ministry at San Diego First turns our attention to how it is we are at service. In our curriculum, we’ll be focusing on how Jesus’ early ministry went out and made a real impact in the lives of people he touched and how we are still called to do such a thing in our ministry as well!
We’ll kick off our New Year with a bang in celebration in Children’s Church…expect party hats, noise makers, and even poppers! It’s Jesus’ birthday celebration, so we’re doing it up big! We’ll also be joining in Water’s Edge worship on January 22nd as well.
Our Tweens will be focusing their time and attention on what Methodists are best at: service! On January 15th, we’ll join in doing a park clean up and then on January 22nd, we’ll help repackage food for our food ministry. If you’re Tween (fourth and fifth grader) is interested in joining us, please let Beckie know.
We will also be heading back to the roots of our faith with a 1-Day VBS: Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid! Come hang out with us at 1-Day VBS on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Children ages 4 through 5th grade will learn that Jesus was a boy who had a family, friends, neighbors, a home, and a church at Hometown Nazareth! Stations and activities including Bible stories, crafts, games, worship, dinner, and more. Registration required for each child participating, child-care available for younger siblings. Cost: $15.00 (Registration includes craft, snack and dinner.) Please sign-up online here or contact Beckie Henselmeier in the church office or at .
As always, please follow our Facebook page for updates, event registration, photo galleries, and more. We’d love to hear what you have to say about the Children’s Ministry at First Church.
Blessings to you and yours,
Beckie Henselmeier
