Food Ministry

All San Diegans have been touched by these recent volatile economic times, but none are finding it more difficult to endure than the low income families and elderly we serve every Sunday through our food ministry.

Our need for food items is increasing because the number of low income families and individuals is also increasing every day.

The bread and pastries we distribute comes to us in the form of donations from local companies. These donations have been decreasing in recent months. The most important donations come to us each Sunday from our church family members in the form of dairy, meats, pasta and quality canned goods.

In an effort to alert our members to special sales and extra good buys, we have a "sales of the week" listing posted weekly on our web site. The next time you're at the grocery store, throw an extra item in your cart for the Sunday food table.

Here are some of the most valued foods we need: canned meats, tuna fish, soups, stews, pasta & sauce, mac & Cheese, hot or cold cereal, lunch meats or hot dogs, cheese slices, and the most valuable item of all - milk.

Stop by the Food Ministry table on Sunday September 7 and sign up for one of the many opportunities available in this ministry.
