Easter Vigil Prayer Pilgrimage
invites you to a powerful encounter with the stories of Holy Week and Easter. At this self-guided, interactive journey participants are invited to come experience the stories of Holy Week. Share in the Last Supper. Pray with Jesus in the garden. Warm yourself by the fire where Peter denied knowing Jesus. Walk the path toward crucifixion, and find yourself blessed by resurrection.

The self-guided journey begins in the Trotter Chapel any time between 7:30 and 9 p.m. on Easter Eve, April 11, 2009. The pilgrimage is appropriate for people of all ages, and would be a powerful experience for families to do, together. The journey will be indoors and out, and all paths are wheelchair accessible. Rev. Molly Vetter and Rev. Karen Ristine invite everyone to come join in this journey.

Along the pilgrimage journey, participants will be invited to stop at 9 stations, to encounter the stories of the Bible in the context of our own lives and world. Stations will include Jesus' footwashing, the road to Golgotha, his crucifixion, and his resurrection. Pilgrims on the journey will also be invited to share in the sacraments of baptism and communion.

Stations along the journey have been designed by church members. The pilgrimage is designed to connect with people who are new to the Christian stories, as well as life-long people of faith. It is an opportunity to engage and experience the story anew this year.
