The Covenant Circle was formed in 1992 to recognize and thank members and friends of First United Methodist Church who ensure our church’s exciting future of praise and service through gifts to the Church or The First United Methodist Foundation of San Diego.

Through planned giving, Covenant Circle members leave a tremendous legacy to the church. Over the years, planned gifts that matured, not only supported the Foundation with trust gifts providing interest only to be used for missions from now until forever, but also provided monies for pew renovation, campus signage, lighting and sound upgrades, and the video ministry, to name just a few of the legacy gifts provided by those who have gone before us. We extend our grateful thanks to all Covenant Circle members who have provided for the future of our Church, remembering “A planned gift today is a tithe for tomorrow!”

Covenant Circle Luncheon

Each year, we invite our members and prospective members of The Covenant Circle to a very special luncheon and program. We like to thank and recognize your generosity and to let you know how endowment funds are being used and to enjoy a relaxed social occasion together. During the luncheon we welcome new members and honor the members who passed in the previous year.

Covenant Circle Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Covenant Circle's 20th Anniversary Luncheon is planned for May 6, 2012 at The Dana on Mission Bay. The event kicks off with a reception at 12:30 PM., followed by the meal and special program at 1PM.

Each year, members and prospective members of The Covenant Circle are invited to attend this very special luncheon and celebration. To celebrate our twentieth year, this year's program will include special recognition of the founders of the Covenant Circle and a celebration of the bequests to First Church over the past 20 years.

Another special portion of the program will be a time to honor members who passed in 2011 and to recognize the new members who have chosen to include the Covenant Circle in their planned giving efforts.
